After working on many projects that saw him grow as a guitarist (Sal La Rocca Band, Fabrice Alleman, Chrystel Wautier, and others) Lorenzo Di Maio now releases his first solo album, a musical yin & yang and invitation to escape. At the root of Black Rainbow is the desire to play with contrasts. The writing acts like an inner journey that leads to an ensemble of nuanced compositions. The sound is at times melancholic, at other times lighter, sketching out soundscapes that can be dark but always with a shard of light. For the occasion, the guitarist put together a powerful team that serves music punctuated by delicate arrangements and a firm aesthetic feel that owes a lot to the subtle balance between the five musicians. In this space where playing is freedom, the various influences meet and are channeled.
